CHELSEA BATTLE MAN CITY FOR £8m "NEW RONALDO"

Jose Mourinho had asked the Blues to fund a bid for the player, having courted the 18-year-old during his time in charge of Real Madrid. However, Manchester City continue to pursue the teenager, with Sporting Lisbon wanting £8million plus add-ons for the Portugal U20 international. Bruma’s contract expires next summer though, and interested parties are sensing an opportunity to negotiate
a better deal for one of Europe’s hottest properties. Indeed, his style of has lead to comparison with Ronaldo.

Chelsea have gained a reputation for bringing some of the best young players to Stamford Bridge, with Eden Hazard, Oscar and Romelu Lukaku three high-profile examples.
Bruma would be another name to add to that list, and could be the jewel in the crown in west London if he manages to emulate Ronaldo.
Chelsea will hope the arrival of ‘the special one’ gives them an edge over their rivals, with the Portuguese connection difficult to overlook.
Manchester City do have vast wealth to throw at the youngster however, and can also point to a more recent Premier League title victory.
It all suggests that a major transfer battle could ensue between Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini later this summer.
