Roberto Martinez is likely to have his backroom staff selected by the
time he begins work at Everton next week, with his assistant from Wigan,
Graeme Jones, set to be among the coaching ranks.
Assistant manager Steve Round, coach Jimmy Lumsden and goalkeeping
coach Chris Woods all appear set to follow David Moyes to Manchester
United.
Everton chief executive Robert Elstone backed
Martinez's decision to hand pick his staff for next season, insisting it
will help the former Wigan boss to make an immediate impact.
"We are working to make that happen and I'm sure we will succeed on that in
the very near future."
Everton rejected Manchester United's
bid for Leighton Baines on Friday as the club insisted their left-back
is "not for sale". But Elstone insists any players who decide to leave
will do so on good terms.
"Whoever ultimately moves
on to new pastures goes with our best wishes and our thanks for all their
contribution they have made to Everton Football Club."
